The Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo is a nonprofit youth development organization that provides a safe, structured environment for children and teens ages 5–18 in the Amarillo area. It offers affordable after-school care, academic support, recreation, and enrichment programs designed to support working families and help youth succeed in school and life.


Programs & Activities

Children rotate through structured program areas each day, including:

  • Daily homework help and tutoring

  • Computer labs for schoolwork

  • Quiet study time with staff assistance

πŸ€ Sports & Recreation

  • Basketball, gym games, and structured physical activity

  • Rotating fitness and team-based games

  • Some locations may offer youth wrestling programs or clubs, depending on season and coaching availability

  • Occasional special events such as swimming or pool days (seasonal/scheduled)

🎨 Arts & Enrichment

  • Arts and crafts, painting, and creative projects

  • Music and performance activities

  • STEM and hands-on learning activities

🧠 Leadership & Life Skills

  • Leadership development programs

  • Mentorship and character-building activities

  • Health, wellness, and decision-making education programs

  • Glenwood Elementary  until 6PM

  • Bivins Elementary until 6:30PM

  • Hamlet until6:30PM

  • Rolling Hills Elementary (RRISD) until 6PM

  • Dykeman (Main location, transportation provided) until 7PM:

What a Typical Day Looks Like

  1. School dismissal

  2. Bus pickup or parent drop-off

  3. Snack or meal provided

  4. Homework and academic support

  5. Rotating activity blocks (sports, arts, STEM, etc.)

  6. Free structured recreation time

  7. Parent pickup (6–7 PM)

How to Register

  1. Visit their site

  2. Complete a membership application

  3. Provide basic information (child’s name, age, school, emergency contacts, and health information)

  4. Pay the low monthly membership fee (typically around $30/month) or apply for financial assistance if needed

  5. Select the nearest participating Club location

  6. Once approved, families receive orientation details, schedules, and transportation information (if eligible)
