Transportation help for veterans to medical care
The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) provides free van rides to and from VA Amarillo Healthcare System in Amarillo to Veterans who don’t have other transportation options.
DAV van resources work with county Veterans Affairs directors to provide transportation for Veterans to and from Veteran health care centers for scheduled medical appointments.
These vans transport Veterans throughout Texas Panhandle. Each month, between 1,500 and 1,700 Veterans receive DAV transportation.
Eligibility Requirements:
Include being a veteran who is needing a ride to and from VA Amarillo Healthcare System and have no other means of transportation. Passengers must also be ambulatory (able to move around without the driver’s help).
